COMMUNAL JUKEBOX

Our Mission

The jukebox is known as a club or bar novelty. Its self contained music was enjoyed by patrons with the continuous injection of coins. It provided an easy form of entertainment for everyone in the space to connect and mingle.

Originating as a school project led by Morris Yang, the Communal Jukebox aims to foster a sense of belonging as well as stimulating thought about place and self through the sharing and cultivation of meaningful music.

Growing to include two of his NYU classmates, Elton and Ken, the art project travels across New York City to spread the insight of others and expand its own repertoire.
